Rebecca got started in triathlon in 2010 when a friend asked her to be the runner on a relay team: triathlon has been a big part of her life ever since. Like a lot of adult females, sport took a back seat throughout her 20s but Rebecca soon discovered that triathlon offered a way to attain new fitness goals, friends, and success outside of a career in fisheries science. Gaining momentum in the sport, Rebecca found a passion in helping others attain fitness goals and triathlon success and she is now a trained NCCP triathlon coach.
Rebecca has coached various triathlon clinics and created personalized training plans for teens and adults, including technical run form sessions. As an amateur athlete and scientist, Rebecca has a passion for understanding the data of endurance sport and bringing evidence-based strategies into a training plan. She uses a risk management approach to injury prevention and performance gains. As a mother of a young son, Rebecca also has a passion for working with parents of all stages (pregnant, post-partum, seasoned parents) and families trying to balance the time needed to attain triathlon goals with the realities of work, school, kids, and other obligations. Rebecca is also committed to keeping women and girls in sport for life.
Rebecca's other interests involve her boys (human and canine), traveling, canoeing, reading, camping, and epic multi-day hikes.
